About Me
Hi, I’m D. D. Rumin, although my family knows me as Dylan Doensen. Born in 2001, I was raised in The Netherlands by my Frisian mother and Surinamese father. They started teaching me English from a very young age, which in a short time developed into one of my proudest talents.
In my teen years, I greatly enjoyed music and video games, the latter of which introduced me to the concept of character voice acting for video games. I came across a volunteer project called Skywind and felt extremely motivated to pursue a role in the project as a voice actor, however, I had no experience acting or recording and ultimately I wasn’t recruited onto the project. Never the less, I had found my passion and enjoyed playing around with me voice, learning about recording technique and gear for the following years.
In 2020, I auditioned for an animated webseries, Artificial Faults, and got recruited to voice one of the main characters in the show. A year later I had my first professional commission from a local company, AT-Automation, and with that I had now made the first steps in building a portfolio.
I decided it was time to get serious, and took character acting lessons from Wes Jonhson. He taught me about acting, my voice as an instrument and making demos. And with that we arrive here! I am now a professional freelance voice over artist.
